Sunburn -

A sunburn occurs when skin is burned by exposure to the sun or other ultraviolet light. Sunburn is better prevented than treated. Sunburn results from too much sun or sun-equivalent exposure. It is a burn from ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The consequence of this burn is inflammation of the skin. The long-term consequences of years of overexposure to the sun are significant. One blistering sunburn doubles the likelihood of developing malignant melanoma. Chronic sun exposure causes premature wrinkling and aging of the skin.

Sunburn Symptoms

  • Chills
  • Fever
  • Nausea or vomiting or both
  • Flulike symptoms
  • Blistering - May range from a very fine blister that is only found when you begin to "peel" to very large water-filled blisters with red, tender, raw skin underneath

Home Remedies to cure and prevent sunburn

Avoid lotions that contain topical anesthetic medications because you can become sensitized and then allergic to that medicine.

Make a paste of Barley, turmeric and yogurt in equal proportions. Apply it over the area of sunburns for sunburn relief.

Sunscreen should be generously applied. If out in the sun for a prolonged period of time during the day, wearing a hat and other protective clothing is recommended. Light clothing reflects the sun most effectively.

If the sunburn is not localized to one area, you may want to soak in the tub instead. First, clean the tub with hydrogen peroxide or a small amount of bleach and be sure to rinse the tub thoroughly. For this bath you will need tons of tea bags. Brew the tea with boiling water until it is very strong, and you can cool this down with half cold water. You should not get in until the water is no longer warm, and be sure to get out when the tea water gets too cold. You will need to either lie down in the tub or have the tub filled high enough to cover all the sunburned areas.

Apply cold aloe vera gel, apple cider vinegar, or plantain to help heal sunburn.

Another effective remedy for sunburn. Dip some gauze into milk and apply it to your sunburned skin. The tannic acid in the tea draws the burn out of the skin and heals it. After just one application, most sunburns are no longer painful and are much less red. However, this treatment will act on the pain but may not prevent peeling.

Take 2 tomatoes puree, cucumber puree and Mix with lemon juice. Apply this paste all over the suntanned and sunburnt skin. Let it dry. Dab the puree again. Repeat 3 times and let it dry thoroughly, then rinse off. Use this treatment for a week and see the difference. It not only helps to soothe the burnt area, it adds a glow to the skin too.

Boil and mash some cabbage leaves. Apply the pulp all over the tanned and sunburnt areas. Leave on for 15 minutes before washing off with cold water. Repeat this sunburn treatment at least for a week. This remedy acts as a protective and soothing balm. Use whenever you have been exposed to the hot sun.

Rub GREEN GOURD all over the affected areas. Repeat 3-4 times. Helps in curing sunburn and soothes skin.

ALOE VERA is a natural and soothing treatment option for sunburn and tan. Just pluck a few leaves of the plant, mash them and mix with lemon juice. Apply all over the affected areas. It cleanses, clears and nourishes the skin.

Honey and lime juice is also used in treating sunburn. Mix 2 spoons of honey with lemon jucie and apply over the sunburned or tanned skin areas. Helps to lighten and soothe the skin.

If you do have a really bad sun burn try all natural lotions and syrums. I also found a good home remedy for you -

Take a few vitimin pills (c, d and a) and grind up as many as needed into some cod liver oil (make into a past) put in about 1/4 of its mass in vasalien (with vitimin e and aloe). Aadd any typ of all natural lotion that had green tea in it and apply to burnt areas....put on before you take a shower (it will smell rancidly of fish) unless you want to add some type of really REALLY strong perfume to it....but i wouldnt risk it...leave on for as long as posible before showering wash ad thurowly as posible (to get fish smell off) and apply the green tea lotion to sunburnt areas (or every where...its great for your skin) and if you have any newer scares apply a very thin layor of cod liver oil to it with a q-tip (it will make the scare heal more efectivly making them a lot less noticible in the future) and if the sunburn is not too bad (to the point of blistering) then apply rubbing aaucihol to it....it will cool it off...but what ever you do do not apply to any even close to open areas.

Homemade Acne Remedy

Lemon Juice for acne cure : Mix equal quantities of lemon juice with rose water. Apply the lotion on the face. Leave it to dry for some time and wash it well using fresh water. This is an excellent remedy which helps cure acne, pimples and reduces blemishes and scars.

Take garlic capsules, they boost the immune system and kill the bacteria found in acne.

Cucumber leaves or grated pieces. Apply to area for acne cure.

Take a few pods of garlic and crush them fine. Add a few drops of honey and add some curd to make a paste. Apply gently only on the pimples. Let it dry, and then wash gently without scrubbing. Add contents of vitamin A capsule and add it to the mixture. Apply the mask all over the face except under eyes area. Wait until dry and wash it off with cold water.

Take one tablespoon black pepper powder and add to it enough curd to make thick paste. Apply on the infected area and let it dry. Wash off after 5-7 minutes. This is an effective cure for blackheads or to get rid of blackheads.

The benzol peroxide helps to soften the blackheads with the oxygen it contains.

An ideal mask that extracts dirt and oil from clogged pores can be made by using orange peel and youghurt. It also opens up the clogged pores that cause acne and blackheads. Take 2 tablespoons of orange peel powder and add 4 tablespoons of yoghurt to make a paste. Apply all over the face, while gently rubbing in circular motion. Wash off with cold water. An excellent way to prevent clogged pores and keep the skin clean and healthy.

Another effective remedies for blackhead is to mix two teaspoons soda bicarbonate with three cups of boiled water. Steam a towel in this and place the towel on face. Repeat this around five to six times a day.

Make a paste by mixing one teaspoon curd and one teaspoon of rice flour. Rub this paste on the area of blackheads and on getting dry, wash it off with cold water.

Just apply toothpaste dry directly on to the problem area then let it stay on for at least 25 minutes. For the pimple...the top will dissapear but remeber to wash your face and hands after the pimple pops. When toothpaste is applied burning might happen but this is normal. Mix glycerin soap, fuller's earth (multani mutti), almond powder in the ratio of 2:1:4 i.e. for each 20 gram of glycerin soap add 10 grams of fuller's earth with 40 grams of almond powder. Mix in it boiled water and make a paste. Apply the paste on the blackheads.

To rid blackheads, mix cornstarch with vinegar, plaster on the area for 15-30 minutes; wash off with washcloth and warm water.

Apply a paste of fresh methi (fenugreek) leaves over the face every night for 10-15 minutes and washed with warm water. This will prevent acne, pimples, blackheads, and wrinkles.

Clay masks used regularly helps pull out trapped oil and dead skin.

Make solution with one cups of hot water and half a tablespoon of boric powder. It is an good remedy for blackheads. Saturate a face napkin in this hot solution and press on to the skin, repeat it twice. Extract blackheads carefully with a blackhead extractor and sterilized cottonwool. The blackhead extractor you use should be a sterlized one. Now put on astrigent lotion.

Mix groundnut oil with an equal amtount of fresh lime juice and apply on face. leave for 10-15 minutes and wash. It may be applied daily to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples.

Make a paste of ground radish seeds with water and apply it on face to prevent formation of blackheads and pimples.

Beat white part of an egg. Add one teaspoon of honey and with a cotton swab, apply it on face. Keep it around half an hour and then rinse with warm water. This is also good for blackheads and dark spots.

Mix 5 tea spoon full of sodium bicarbonate with 1 cup of boiled water. Put the mixture on the blackheads.

Make a paste of neem leaves with turmeric powder. Apply on affected area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water.

Mix mint juice with turmeric powder and apply on affected area. Leave for 15-20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. With continious use acne and Blackheads will disappear like magic without leaving a mark.

Take one tablespoon black pepper powder and add to it enough curd to make a thick paste. Apply on the infected area and let it dry. Wash off after 5-7 minutes. This is an effective cure for blackheads.

Acne Blackheads Treatment using papayaa and cucumber

Take Half cup of mashed papaya, One fourth cup of grated cucumber and five mashed strawberries. Make a mixture and add half cup cornmeal or rice powder and juice of lime. Keep the mixture in the refrigerator for 30 minutes and then apply it gently on face and neck for another half an hour and then wash it off.

By dabbing milk of magnesia on the lesions, provides some relief in hives. As milk of magnesia is an alkaline solution it helps in removing the irritating itchy sensation.

Green tea was really a great affect on me, it worked wonderfully and afterwards my skin was not only acne free but soft too. take a small cereal bowl and fill about half way with water. the put in microwave for 55 seconds. put a tea bag in and stir every now and then during a five minute waiting period. then over sink dip affected area of skin into the bowl it was great for my chin and nose pimples.
